A Hand Up

Each year, we offer work opportunities to more than 500 people who are actively participating in, and at risk for, panhandling.

For those in our community who are struggling financially and want to work, A Hand Up can offer day labor opportunities while helping them address other needs like housing, addiction treatment, medical services, and more.

Each crew works to clean areas identified by the City of Providence and crew members are paid cash daily for their work. During their time on the A Hand Up crew, they also work with Amos House social workers to address the issues that led to panhandling.
