A Hand Up
In the past two years, we have offered work opportunities to over 600 men and women who are participating in, and at risk for, panhandling.
For men and women in our community who are struggling financially and want to work, A Hand Up can offer day labor opportunities while helping them address other needs like housing, addiction treatment, medical services, and more.
Each three week long crew works to clean areas identified by the City of Providence and are cash paid daily for their work. During their time on the A Hand Up crew, they also work with Amos House social workers to address the issues that led to panhandling.
